Honeymoon Session
Lars & Emma
There is something undeniably magical about the crisp morning air in the Selat area of Bali. The thin mist still hugs the green valley. The sun is just beginning to peek warmly through the canopy. And for a brief, precious moment, the world feels as though it has paused — just for you.
It was here, enveloped by the iconic bamboo architecture of Camaya Bali, that I had the privilege of documenting a genuine love story.
Lars and Emma traded the flat, breezy landscapes of the Netherlands for the lush, tropical embrace of the Balinese jungle. They chose this exact spot — a stunning bamboo villa hidden in the forest — for their romantic escape. This wasn’t just a standard photoshoot. It was a celebration of two souls savoring the sweetness of their honeymoon session.
As a Bali photographer, my job has never been about just pressing a shutter and asking people to smile. Here at Luminare, it is always about capturing a feeling — something you can look back on in twenty years and still get goosebumps.

The Art of Capturing Laughter and Organic Intimacy
The vibe that morning was effortlessly relaxed. No stiff, forced poses. No awkward countdowns. Just the two of them, warm cups of coffee, and light conversations punctuated by sudden bursts of laughter.
Here’s something I’ve learned over years of working as a Bali travel photographer: true intimacy rarely happens when someone yells, “Okay, look at the camera and smile!”
Intimacy lives in the in-betweens.
The moments they lock eyes across the table. The way she laughs at his terrible joke and he pretends to be offended. The quiet seconds where they simply exist together — as though they are the only two people left in this corner of the world. Those are the frames that matter. Those are the ones that make your heart skip when you scroll through them months later.

Light, Shadows, and Cinematic Nuances
I let the two of them get completely lost in their own world while I moved quietly around them with my Sony A7IV — making sure to capture every fleeting, precious second.
Finding the right light filtering through dense tropical foliage is an art form in itself. As a bamboo villa photographer who has spent countless sessions in locations
Being a Bali content creator means constantly pushing creative boundaries, and this session was the perfect playground for that.
A New Perspective from Above
You can’t truly talk about the raw beauty of Bali’s nature without looking at the bigger picture — literally.
To properly showcase the sheer scale of the Camaya bamboo house holding Lars and Emma that morning, we sent up a professional drone. As a certified drone pilot in Bali, I always carry aerial equipment to sessions like this, because some stories simply cannot be told from the ground alone.
The result? Absolutely breathtaking.
Sometimes, you need to pull back and look at things from afar to realize just how beautiful and secluded a moment truly is. The cinematic drone video and aerial stills provided an epic, sweeping perspective that made this visual narrative feel complete — the kind of footage that transforms a photo gallery into a full cinematic experience.

More Than Just Photos — It’s a Time Machine
At the end of the day, a honeymoon session in Bali isn’t just about acquiring a beautiful backlog of photos for your social media feed.
It’s about celebrating a massive milestone in your life. It is about returning to nature, returning to each other, and securing a visual time machine — one that allows you to feel those exact same emotions years down the line. The laughter. The warmth. The way the mist smelled that morning. All of it, preserved.
That’s what we do at Luminare. As your dedicated Bali photographer and creative partner, we don’t just document moments — we craft stories you’ll want to relive forever.
